Paulson Sponsors A Different Kind of Green  Initiative

CHESTER, CT (March 2015)–– Can you recognize the next generation of plastics engineers? At NPE2015 you’ll be able to spot them a mile away. Wearing appropriately “Green” t-shirts, soon-to-be engineering graduates and talented young plastics professionals will be participating in the Society of Plastics Engineers’ (SPE) thrilling challenge, “The Plastics Race,” now in it’s second year.

The Race, billed as SPE’s, “Next Generation” initiative consists of several hundred promising students and young professionals competing for nearly $12,000 in prizes by answering questions they can only access by visiting exhibiting sponsors’ booths at NPE and Paulson Training Programs will be among those booths.

“When Russell (Broome) at SPE told us about the Race we knew immediately this would be a fantastic program to support. Education is our business, it’s what we do, and working with SPE to help promote careers in plastics to engineering students and young professionals, it was an obvious decision. We jumped right in,” said Craig Paulson, President of Paulson Training Programs.

In “Jumping in” Paulson immediately signed on to be a sponsor of the Race and drafted one of the race questions making their booth a “race-leg waypoint destination” (one of only a 100) that each participant will seek in their hunt for answers. In order to win, each four-member team must work together and answer as many questions as possible to earn the maximum points. Only one team will win but as SPE says, everyone is winner.

Participating in the Race was a perfect fit. Coming up with the question to submit for the Race was pretty simple.

Paulson’s products are all about questions and answers in their aim to teach plastics processing. Learning about polymers can be fun and Paulson commends SPE’s approach to engage the next generation in this manner.

What’s the question Paulson submitted for the Race? You’ll have to visit Paulson’s NPE booth (w1183) to find out.
