Paulson Training Programs is proud to announce that they will be participating in Manufacturing Day 2014 at the Toshiba Machine America facility outside of Chicago, IL. Paulson and Toshiba Machine have a longstanding partnership in the plastics education and training areas with Paulson offering Paulson Plastics Academy ProMolder injection molding seminars at Toshiba Machine America Tech Centers around the country.

Toshiba’s Manufacturing Day event is one of over 600 events being held all over the United States by manufacturing companies. “Manufacturing Day 2014” is a grassroots movement designed to assist US manufacturing companies by exposing high school and college students to the tremendous opportunities offered in the manufacturing sectors of the US economy. Co-sponsors of MFG Day 2014 include the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International, Manufacturing Extension Partnership and the Manufacturing Institute.

“The plastics industry in particular has been hard hit by the skilled labor shortage”, says Craig Paulson, President of Paulson Training Programs. “Getting the opportunity to help our longstanding partner, Toshiba Machines America was really a no-brainer.” Tom McKevitt, General Manager of Toshiba Machines of America stated “We’ve been diligently working on a program that would increase the next generation’s awareness of manufacturing, especially in Illinois, so that we can maintain America’s strength in the global economy.”

With the trend towards re-shoring, injection molders, extrusion companies, blow molders, thermoformers and all the other plastics manufacturing processes with only see an increase in their need for skilled labor. For the plastics industry, Manufacturing Day 2014 is important because very few high school and even college aged students are aware of the tremendous career opportunities that the plastics industry offers.
